Solway Firth Spaceman

The Solway Firth Spaceman was the name given to an at first mysterious figure appearing in the background of a photograph taken by fireman, photographer, and local historian Jim Templeton in 1964.
Background
James Parker "Jim" Templeton was born at Belmont Terrace in the former village of Belle Vue, Carlisle on 13 February 1920 to parents Daniel "Dan" and Mary Templeton.
Photograph
Jim Templeton, his wife Anne, and daughters, Elizabeth and Francis, took a day trip to Burgh Marsh[1] on 23 May 1964. During this time, Jim took three photographs of his then five-year-old daughter, Elizabeth.
