Congenital insensitivity to pain

Congenital insensitivity to pain (CIP), also known as congenital analgesia, is a rare inherited disorder (Protheroe 558) which presents itself as indifference to pain despite the affected being able to distinguish noxious from non-noxious stimuli (Adams et al. 1343).
